Product Update

Once again, there are some very exciting upcoming product releases to make you aware of as some of these will almost certainly deliver significant business benefits to your company.

LM4 Product Update – including Supply Chain KPI’s & Multi User MRP

Following on from the previous release in March 2008 there will be a further LM4 product update to be released in September 2008.

Included in this release will be new Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) delivered in the Inventory module as follows:

Inventory Turns – the ability to report on stock turns over a user defined period using either quantity or cost as the basis for the number of turns.

Order Fulfilment – calculates the percentage of order lines (or whole orders) that are delivered in full on time to Customers.

ABC Analysis – automatically classifies stock items based on sales value to the company of goods sold. The ABC class can be stored in the item selection codes allowing selection by this code across LM4.

Also included in the September release will be a multi-user capability within MRP enabling more than one person to view and action MRP suggested actions. This has been frequently requested by Lakeview Customers using MRP and we are pleased to have solved this and be able to meet this need.

New LM Demand Forecasting Module

This new LM4 module is planned for release in June 2008 and will automatically create demand forecasts based on the sales history within LM4 which is extracted to this module and can be modified by the user to remove any known exceptional demand or anomalies in the data.

The module will be delivered with seven forecasting methods plus the capability for users to create their own simple forecasting methods. The system will compare the accuracy of each forecast method for each stock item by simulating the past as if it hasn’t happened and choosing then the forecast method with the lowest error to calculate future forecasted demand.

The resultant forecast can be reviewed online, exported to Excel or to/from the Supply Chain Analytics product (powered by Phocas.) Once the forecast has been reviewed and finalised it can be transferred across to MRP.

Please take a look at the attached module sheet for more detail.

Purchase Analytics

The new Purchasing Analytics solution from Lakeview (release date May 2008) provides the flexibility for the end user to interrogate key data within their Purchasing data with a very simple set up. This includes historical data for purchasing orders, deliveries and invoices.

A simple setup and configuration program takes days not months, and is straightforward to change later. It utilizes the same Phocas engine used by Sales Analytics.

Your company summary by month of the Purchasing data you wish to interrogate is clearly presented on screen at the top level.

The data can be ‘sliced and diced’ however you want, e.g. by Supplier, Supplier Group, ABC Class, Product, Product Group, Division and by almost any classification and combination you choose from within Lakeview. All of this can be done online allowing you to drill down and around, asking more questions as you think of them and receiving more insight into your procurement business allowing you to reduce procurement costs, rationalize suppliers and improve supplier performance.
